Kumarghat Nov 26: Tripura Pradesh Congress’s “Tripura Bachao-Bharat Jodo Yatra” entered Minister Bhagaban Das’s assembly constituency, Kumarghat on Saturday.
Challenging the ruling BJP from the day’s rally, lone Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman said, “It is the Congress workers who made the MLAs of the BJP party through votes”.
“The BJP will not come back to power in 2023. At one side, BJP leaders are boasting over ‘Drug-Free Tripura’, while on the other hand, the brother of elected MP from the state and Union Minister is continuing drug trade rampantly”, he said.
Congress conducted mega foot-merch in Kumarghat town area under Pabiachhara assembly constituency.
Congress workers of Kumarghat subdivision along with District Congress president, All India Congress leaders participated in this yatra.
At the end of the march, MLA Sudip Roy Barman criticized the ruling BJP-led state government and said that the current government is doing nothing but corruption.
“Looting is going on everywhere in the state, the BJP government is snatching away the rights of the common people of the state and the country”, he said.
Roy Barman added that the Congress is fighting for the people of the state and their rights.
Later, in a joining meeting, BJP's Minority District Morcha Secretary Rajab Ali and Raja Singh joined the Congress party along with numerous supporters.
