Agartala, Apr 04: The traditional janajati dance brought the G20 delegates, who attended a Science-20 summit in Agartla on Monday, on the dance floor at Neermahal on Tuesday, reflecting the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
As some of the global delegates joined the traditional dance, the Neermahal witnessed a spectacular display of ‘unity in diversity’. The programme showcased the vibrant culture of Tripura.
They were visibly mesmerized by the show of light, music and culture at the royal palace- Neermahal which is situated in the middle of beautiful Rudrasagar Lake.
Earlier on the day, the G20 delegates joined a Yoga session at the Oxygen Park in Agartala. Apart from Neermahal, they also visited several other tourist locations including Sepahijala wildlife sanctuary, Chabimura and Bhubaneswari temple. They were accompanied by the higher officials.
On their visit to the Oxygen Park, they were welcomed by PCCF K.S. Sethi, Special Secretary of Industries and Commerce department- Abhishek Chandra, Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs department Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, West Tripura District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan and the other officials of the Forest department.
In the beginning, the delegates paid floral tribute at the Shaheed Bedi inside the park and then inspected various segments of the park including the newly-inaugurated Orchidarium.
At the last part of their visit, the guests took part in a Yoga session and planted Agar tree saplings.
The delegates next visited Purbasha where they were welcomed by the Chairman of Tripura Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation Balai Goswami. A cultural program was organised in honor of the delegates. They also visited the stalls.
A tweet from the official handle G20 India said, the second S20 meeting came to a successful close, serving as a platform for exchange of ideas and best practices on sustainable development through clean energy. The delegates, according to the tweet, witnessed the essence of Tripura through educational tours and cultural performances.
Meanwhile, the Tripura government had made massive arrangements to make the event successful and it was well reflected in the delegates’ expressions.
