Agartala Oct 27: Protesting against the rising incidents of women related crimes across the state and demanding justice for the victims of gang rape, Left student wings SFI-TSU, staged protest in front on Police Headquarter on Thursday.
The two gang rape incidents in Kumarghat and Kalyanpur in the month of October have shaken the entire state. The issue further turned sensitive as rape allegation is raised against BJP Minister Bhagaban Das’s son Chandrasekhar Das whose name was not registered in the FIR stating that he was in Guwahati on that day.
Raising voice against the impartial role of police SFI, TSU staged protest in front of the PHQ.
Addressing the reporters, SFI state secretary Sandeepan Deb said, “In the last 4.5 yrs of BJP governance, a jungle raj has been established in the state. And Tripura BJP leaders, party members have been celebrating this era by raping women, murdering innocents and doing crimes”.
Deb added, “Women are no safer in the state. Rule of law has collapsed. And Tripura police has covered their eyes with clothes like Gandhari”.
Condemning the role of police for playing biased role, SFI-TSU demanded police to straighten its backbone and punish the real culprits.
