Agartala, Aug 25: Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, along with other officials, visited the flood relief camp at Pratapgarh English Medium School under Sadar Sub-division on Sunday.
During his visit, Governor Nallu interacted with the flood-affected residents and inspected the provision of essential supplies, including drinking water and medicines.
Expressing concern about the return of displaced people to their homes once the floodwaters recede, Governor Nallu assured that the state government is actively addressing the situation. He highlighted that the central government has already allocated Rs 40 crore for the flood-affected areas in Tripura.
Governor Nallu stated that the extent of the flood damage was unexpected, as the state has not experienced such heavy rainfall in a short period. He emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures to combat the spread of waterborne diseases, which are common in such waterlogged conditions.
