Agartala, Mar 24: Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya on Friday said the state government is committed to take the state to new heights in the path of development.

Addressing the Session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly on the first day, the Governor said the state government has been working relentlessly to build ‘Ek Tripura, Shreshta Tripura’ as per the vision of ‘Lakshya-2047’.

He said, the participation of women was 3 percent higher than the men in the recently concluded Assembly polls in the state. Besides, there are eight women members in the House and it would show a new direction for women empowerment.

In his speech, the Governor also remembered the contributions of former minister late Narendra Chandra Debbarma in public welfare. He thanked the central government for conferring Padma Shri to Debbarma (posthumously).

Speaking in the House, the Governor also mentioned about the major achievements of the BJP-IPFT government in the first five years.

He said, the trade with Bangladesh had increased by 158 percent over the past four years-- the export worth stood at Rs. 121.04 crore in 2022-23.
