Agartala, Aug 17: As the state government is set to issue new ration cards replacing the old cards, the state Food and Civil Supplies department in its notification had asked for Aadhaar "e-KYC" from the ration card holders for an uninterrupted supply of ration goods.
Â
The department has mandated Aadhaar "e-KYC" through fingerprint for identification of family members of the ration card holders.
Â
The notification stated, “It is important to have correct information of the family members in the ration card, which can be confirmed through "e-KYC" verification.”
Â
“It has been observed that a significant number of ration card holders in the state are yet to link Aadhaar with the ration card or "e-KYC". They need to do "e-KYC" immediately. The list of all these consumers is given in the respective ration shops,” it stated.
Â
The department has asked the ration card holders to visit the concerned ration shops and scan their fingerprints at the e-POS machine and do "e-KYC" by September 30.
