GSDP expected to grow at 8.95 pc in 2023-24: Pranajit

Agartala, Mar 27: Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Monday said the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is expected to grow from 8.80 pc (present) to 8.95 percent in 2023-24.
Speaking to the media in the Assembly press corner on the second day of the Session, he said, the present GSDP growth in the state is higher than the national average.
The Finance minister said, he tabled the Vote on Accounts of Rs. 9066.56 crore in the House for the first four months of 2023-24. He said, special focus has been given in the Vote on Accounts so that no financial problem comes way to overall development.
The Finance minister also placed demand for supplementary grants of Rs. 3065.37 crore in the House on the first day-- March 24.
He said, tax revenue collection of Rs. 3000 crore in 2022-23 is being expected.
According to the Finance minister, seven externally-aided projects of Rs. 8174 crore are being implemented while another seven projects of Rs. 3025 crore are in the pipeline.
Finance secretary Brijesh Pandey and joint secretary Akinchan Sarkar were also present.
