Dharmanagar/Churaibari/Kailasahar Dec 12: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Friday visited the Border Out Post (BOP) at Yakubnagar in Dharmanagar sub-division during his two-day long tour to the North Tripura district and interacted with the BSF jawans and officials of the BOP.
BSF DIG M P Singh and 139 Battalion Commander A K Guleria welcomed him, while he received guard of honor in the BOP. During the interaction the BSF officers briefed the Governor about their role in protecting the border. Apart from this, various weapons used by the BSF are also displayed at the BOP.
Earlier on Friday morning, the Governor visited the Dharmanagar Super Market and interacted with the local businessmen in the market. He was accompanied by the DM of North Tripura district Debapriya Bardhan, Chairperson of Dharmanagar Municipal Council Pradyut Dey Sarkar and other officials.
During his two-day long visit to Dharmanagar, the Governor also visited Brajendranagar Primary Health Center in Kadamtala Block, where he was briefed about the services of the health centre. He then visited the innovative under construction water supply plant at Dhubipara in the block.
He also inaugurated a programme on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao organized at Satsang High School in Ranibari area and handed over lands in lease and certificates to the tea plantation workers there. He interacted with the women members of various self-help groups in the conference hall of Kadamtala block and visited the exhibition, where various products of SHGs were displayed.
The Governor visited an agar processing center in Fulbari Gram Panchayat and advised the officials to find the feasibility of converting the agar processing centre into a tourist destination.
Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu was on his four days visit to the Unakoti and North Tripura district. On Wednesday the Governor began his two-days visit to Unakoti district. He reached Kailashahar on Wednesday and chaired a meeting with the DM of Unakoti district Rajib Dutta and officials of the administration in the Circuit House of Kailasahar on Wednesday, where he discussed the status of the execution of various government schemes in the district.
Later, the Governor inspected the newly constructed Tertiary Waste Treatment plant in the abandoned Sonamukhi Tea Garden of the sub-division on Thursday morning, where he was briefed about the function of the plant. He then visited the Deep Tube Well Centre at Samarurpar Gram Panchayat, which was constructed under a government’s water project.
He later visited the Murti Para JB School along the India-Bangladesh international border at Samarurpar Gram Panchayat and interacted with the students and teachers. He also interacted with the villagers there to take stock of the execution of various government schemes. He also visited the residence of beneficiary of PM Awas Yojna Samir Aich and inaugurated his newly constructed house.
