Guv Indrasena Reddy Nallu visits Central Correctional Facility in Bishalgarh

Agartala Sept 03: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Tuesday visited the Central Correctional Facility in Bishalgarh, Sepahijala District. During his visit, he toured various housing and service facilities within the institution.
A senior state government official reported that the Governor engaged in discussions with prison officials and inmates, inquiring about the benefits and challenges of the correctional facility.
He also visited different branches of the Vocational Training Centre for inmates and emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility.
The Governor interacted with inmates at the ‘Anand Theatre’ within the correctional facility, asking about their living conditions and challenges.
Also, the inmates took the opportunity to present a memorandum to the Governor.
Indrasena Reddy Nallu also spoke with female inmates, inquiring about their well-being and that of their children.
Speaking to reporters after the visit, the Governor highlighted that Indian jails are evolving from mere punitive institutions to places of rehabilitation.
He stressed the importance of helping convicts correct their mistakes and lead better lives.
The Governor was accompanied by IG Prisons Ramesh Reddy, Additional District Magistrate of Sepahijala District Jayanta Dey, District Superintendent of Police B.J. Reddy, Jail Superintendent, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Bishalgarh Rakesh Chakraborty, among others.
