Teliamura, Dec 30: At a time when the state government is making extensive efforts to promote tourism, Hathai Kotor Eco Park, one of the most beautiful eco-tourism spots in Tripura, is gradually losing its glory.

This destination attracted tourists in huge numbers during the picnic seasons till recent years. But, lack of maintenance has now turned into a major shortcoming in attracting visitors. There has been a decline in the number of visitors over the past two years.

The children’s entertainment zone in the park is getting damaged due to lack of maintenance, a visitor commented.

A member of the JFMC assigned as lock guard said, cleanliness is maintained in the park only ahead of the Hornbill Festival. A group of visitors also questioned the success of Hornbill Festival, while highlighting the present condition of the park.
