Agartala, June 27: The Department of Political Science, Holy Cross College, Agartala on Monday organized an invited lecture by Lokayukta of Tripura- Kalyan Narayan Bhattacharjee on the topic “The Role of Lokayukta in the State of Tripura”.

Dr. Fr. Benny K. John, CSC, the Principal of the college welcomed the dignitaries- K. N. Bhattacharjee, Lokayukta of Tripura, Badal Roy, Registrar, office of the Lokayukta, and B.K. Roy, Retd. Assistant Registrar of the High Court of Tripura and Lokayukta.

The Lokayukta of Tripura spoke extensively about the office of Lokpal and Lokayukta in India and its importance. He discussed the roles played by the Lokayukta in Tripura since its establishment. He also focused on the procedure to lodge a complaint to Lokayukta for any corruption charges against any public functionaries or public servants. 

The session came to an end with a question-answer session by the students and teachers of the college.
