Home Ministry’s NE Advisor calls on Tripura CM, discusses Janajati development

Agartala, Nov 27: North-East Advisor to Union Ministry of Home Affairs A.K. Mishra paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha at Secretariat, Agartala on Monday.
According to the Chief Minister, they held detailed discussions on the overall development of the Janajati people of the state and the steps taken by the government to solve their issues.
Dr. Saha also requested Mishra to meet Janajati leaders of all political parties including Janajati Samajpatis to know about the socio economic and infrastructural development aspects.
While apprising Mishra of the present state government’s initiatives for Janajati development including budget, road connectivity and drinking water facility, the Chief Minister also requested him to hold meetings with tribal wings of all political parties including the students’ wings.
The Chief Minister also apprised the Home Ministry’s North-East Advisor of the future plans of the state government for ensuring a holistic development in the Janajati areas. During the discussions, Dr. Saha said development is the key goal of the present state government.
As appointed by the government, Mishra, a retired IAS officer, is working as an interlocutor for dialogue with Tipra Motha over ‘Greater Tipraland’ demand. He is expected to hold a crucial meeting with the senior leaders of Tipra Motha which is now ruling in TTAADC.
