Agartala Feb 02: With assembly elections inching closer, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leaving no stone unturned to secure easy win for the second term in Tripura.
Party’s Star Campaigners including JP Nadda, Amit Shah among others slated to visit the poll-bound state in next few days.
Meanwhile, the party candidates are also reaching out to the voters every day to seek votes in order to ensure their win for the respective assembly seat.
BJP candidate from 6-Agartala Assembly Seat, Papiya Dutta who is also the ruling BJPs state general secretary conducted door-to-door campaign in Mulla Para area under 13 no ward.
Confident of winning the seat, Papiya Dutta said, “Major plus point for me in this assembly constituency is the love and affection I’m receiving from the mothers’ and sisters’ in this area”.
Without naming Sudip Roy Barman, the contender against Dutta, she said, “Not only people of 6-Agartala area but the people of entire state are criticizing the incumbent MLA”.
“People are complaining that they never got a glimpse of the MLA here and there is a huge gap between the MLA and the common people”, she added.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the chief minister Dr Manik Saha, who will contest the polls from 8-Town Bordowali assembly seat, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and Corporator Ratna Dutta carried out public outreach program here on Thursday.
Talking to the reporters, Mayor Dipak Majumder said, “People have immense faith of chief minister DR Manik Saha’s leadership”.
“After assuming the chair, in just few months, Dr Saha has contributed vastly to the development of the state and 8-Town Bordowali area from where he won in the by-elections”, he said.
Talking about CPIM-Congress alliance, Majumder said, “The ‘unholy alliance’ has paved way for the people of Tripura to uproot both the parties from the soil of Tripura”.
Late BJP MLA Dilip Sarkar’s sister Mina Rani Sarkar also took part in door-to-door campaign in Badharghat area, the assembly seat from where she has been nominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Criticizing the candidates against her in the assembly seat, Sarkar said, “People are well aware that Congress might withdraw its candidate in Badharghat area and Lion symbol of Forward Bloc has no existence for common people. People don’t even know Forward Bloc”.
She added, “Even the CPIM voters will cast vote for me”.
Other BJP candidates nominated in 55 assembly seats across Tripura are also active on field in view of the polls scheduled to be held on February 16.
