Agartala Jul 12: Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Irani police station OC Jatindra Das arrested a Bangladeshi national from Latiapura village in Kailasahar on the basis of suspicion.

Jatindra Das, OC Irani police station said, “We received information from sources that a man was roaming near the international border in Latiapura village to probably cross the border. Later, the team immediately rushed to the spot and nabbed the youth”.

On interrogation, the detained identified as Nakul Debnath, S/O Banamali Debnath confessed that he was a Bangladeshi citizen from Majlishpur village in Sunamganj and entered Tripura illegally a month ago.

The detained man was later produced before the Kailasahar court on Wednesday.
