Janajati students of 500 villages in Tripura to get free coaching

Agartala, July 12: Tripura Janajati Welfare minister Rampada Jamatia on Monday announced that a plan was in the pipeline to provide free coaching to ST students of 500 villages of the state.
He said that initiatives were already taken to implement the plan by August this year and one teacher would be engaged in each targeted village for this purpose.
Jamatia was addressing the inaugural session of Vidyajyoti Project at Sudhanya Debbarma Smrity Higher Secondary School in Jampuijala sub-division under Sepahijala district.
“The state government has already initiated various plans for the development of Janajati section while implementation of some plans has already started. The state government is also taking initiatives so that the Janajati students can get success in education,” Jamatia said in the programme.
He made another important announcement that the Janajati Welfare department was contemplating a plan to set up hostel in Delhi for the convenience of Janajati students who go there for higher education.
Local MLA Birendra Kishore Debbarma, District Magistrate of Sepahijala Viswashree B., and others including SDM Jampuijala Ssanjit Debbarma and Headmaster of the school Dharmacharan Jamatia were present in the inaugural ceremony.
The DM Sepahijala said, Vidyajyoti project was introduced in 11 schools of the district. An amount of Rs. 1.47 crore was given to Sudhanya Debbarma Smrity Higher Secondary School under the Vidyajyoti scheme for infrastructure development.
