JCC begins with victory

Agartala, Aug 05: Jayanagar Cricket Club (JCC) defeated Mouchak Club by 28 runs in the Sadar based Senior T20 club cricket tournament at the Police Training Academy ground on Friday.
The domestic tournament as well as Sadar based Senior T20 club cricket tournament organized by Tripura Cricket Association started from Friday.
The start of the match had to wait for some time due to water in the field due to the morning rain. Due to which the number of overs was reduced to 16. The Mouchak Club won the toss and decided to bowl first. When JCC was invited to bat, they collected 133 runs losing 5 wickets in limited 16 overs.
For the team, opener Arkaprav Sinha scored highest 44 runs and Shaun Kumar Singh scored 42 runs for the team.
Arkaprav got 44 runs off 27 balls hitting four boundaries and two over boundaries. Shaun played 36 balls and hit two boundaries and an over boundary to score 42 runs. Sahib Yuvraj Singh scored 24 runs in 13 balls with three boundaries.
Mouchak's Sujit Debnath and Kishan Murasingh got two wickets each.
In response, Mouchak Club went to bat and collected 105 runs after losing 4 wickets in the limited 16 overs.
Although the opening batsmen failed, Kishan Mura Singh's impeccable batting stood out. Krishan scored 76 runs from 51 balls hitting five boundaries and six over boundaries. JCC's Yuvraj took two wickets for 9 runs.
Yuvraj got the man of the match title for his all-round performance with bat and ball.
