K’sahar Immigration Centre reopened after two years

Kailashahar, Jun 28: Kailashahar Immigration Centre or Manu Land Customs of India-Bangladesh International Border, which remained closed due to the Covid pandemic, was reopened after over two years on Tuesday.
The re-opening was done after a recently held meeting between Home Secretaries of both the countries.
Similarly, Chatlapur check post on the other side of Bangladesh also reopened on Tuesday.
With the reopening of the Land Customs in Kailasahar and the Chatlapur check post, people of both the countries especially from Sylhet and Maulvi Bazar districts of Bangladesh and three districts of Tripura can travel easily.
A total of six Bangladeshi nationals entered India legally through check posts since the reopening of the immigration centre from morning till 5 pm on Tuesday.
Four out of the six Bangladeshi nationals came to India for treatment purposes, Kailashahar Immigration Centre In-charge S.K Debbarma told reporters.
