Churaibari March 15: Within a span of 24 hours, another theft shocked the people of Kadamtala as a gang of thieves looted gold ornaments, cash, and an expensive mobile phone from a residence in Ward 7, Beltola area.

The incident occurred late Friday night when Arijit Shil, the younger brother of householder Satyajit Shil, heard noises and discovered the house ransacked, with the back door open and the cupboard locker broken.

The family reported a loss of four gold bars, Rs 60,000 cash, and an Android phone, estimating the damage at approximately Rs 5 lakh.

Kadamtala police, alerted immediately, recovered a pair of shoes and a door curtain left by the thieves and have registered a theft case.

This theft, alongside another recent one in the same area, has stirred widespread concern about police patrolling and public safety. The investigation is ongoing, informed the police officials.
