Boxanagar, Jul 12: As part of the state governments initiative to select a Panchayat from each Block in the state as a Child-Friendly Panchayat, Kalsimura Gram Panchayat of Boxanagar was declared a Child-Friendly Panchayat.

Out of the 22 Panchayats in Boxanagar, Kalsimura gram panchayat got the tag.

In order to formulate a plan to make Kalsimura Gram Panchayat a Child-Friendly Panchayat, a special Gram Sabha was held at the Kalsimura Nagar High School ground on Tuesday.

Boxanagar Block Chairman Sanjay Sarkar, BDO Shantanu Bikash Das, CDPO, Kalsimura Gram Panchayat Chief Jayshree Das, Boxanagar BOP BSF Officer Ashok Medical, Officer-in-Charge of Kalamchaura Police Station Bishnupada Bhowmik and many others were present at this special Gram Sabha.

Speaking on Child-Friendly Panchayat, the BDO said, the Child-Friendly Panchayat is a child protection Panchayat in all respects.

The Panchayat would be transformed into a child-friendly panchayat only if a total of 25 child protection guidelines are successfully implemented, he added.
