Law and order improved in Tripura since 2018: CM

Agartala, Nov 20: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday held an important meeting with the district officials of police in presence of DGP Amitabh Ranjan.
The Officers-in-Charge (OCs) of various police stations also joined the meeting where the Chief Minister reviewed the law and order situation and passed necessary instructions.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said, the opposition parties claim that the law and order deteriorated in the state. The allegation is not true. After a thorough review, it has been found that the law and order has improved in the state since 2018.
Sharing data, he said, the murder related crimes came down by 15 percent and the number of dowry deaths also came down by 10 percent. Besides, the state registered a 35 percent decline in the atrocities against women. He said, women help desks (24x7) are functional in all police stations of the state.
The Chief Minister, 83 police stations, five GRP units, 35 Police Outposts and 300 police camps are there in the state.
The public get legal service mainly from the police station. Keeping this view in mind, the meeting with police station level officers has been organized, Dr. Saha said.
In the meeting, the district police chief and other officers highlighted some issues. In this context, the Chief Minister said, the state government would take steps to solve the issues.
