Agartala, July 13: At a time when the Congress party in Tripura led by MLA Sudip Roy Barman is calling for united fight to find a new equation against BJP in Tripura in the run up of the crucial 2023 assembly election, the Left front seems to be getting closer to solve the equation.
After the leader of opposition Manik Sarkar, the veteran CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar on Wednesday termed the ruling BJP party as ‘violent barbarian party’ and felt the necessity of getting the democratic fronts united to unseat BJP.
“In this current situation where almost all the opposition parties are being targeted and the democracy are being throttled, there is a need for all the democratic parties to get united against the BJP,” he said while condemning the attack on Congress leaders – Ashish Kumar Saha and AICC secretary Szarita Laitphlang.
He said, “We strongly condemn such attacks, where even the leaders from outside the state are also not spared in the hands of BJP hooligans.”
Pabitra Kar on Wednesday cited the example of Sri Lankan and British crisis and said, “People of this state and India as a whole like that of Sri Lanka and British needs to be united to rescue our democracy which was murdered during the last eight years of the BJP government.”
“Though the incidents in Sri Lanka and British is condemnable, but if the pre-planned terror, attacks and violence continue to take place, Sri Lankan crisis may arise at any time”, he added.
Earlier on Tuesday last the Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman reacting sharply to the alleged incident of attacks against the opposition parties reiterated his call for a united democratic front against the BJP party.
