Kumarghat Jan 07: The previous government was a government of murder and terror, full of corruption in every sector, said chief minister Dr Manik Saha as he addressed the “Vijay Sankalp Rally” on Saturday where the “Vijay Rath” launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah from Dharmagar reached Kumarghat in Unakoti district of Tripura.
Addressing the occasion, the chief minister said, “Clean and massive victory of BJP in upcoming polls is clear from the huge positive response from the people across Tripura as the Chariot is moving forward and is loved by masses”.
Talking about the opposition’s comments of ‘untimely Rath Yatra’, the chief minister said, “Studying during the examination period is not enough, it makes the students nervous in the examination. BJP always believes in people, tries to solve people's problems, works to solve people's problems throughout the year. As a result, today the people of the country and the people of the state understand that if the country and the state are to be strengthened, only the BJP government should be given the responsibility of running the country and the state”.
Talking about the development of the state, Dr Saha said that the work of many national highways is going on in the state, yet the central government has sanctioned 7 more national highways for which the central government has sanctioned Rs10,222 crore.
“The road from Dharmanagar to Agartala will be in 4 lines, in which Dharmanagar to Agartala will be reached within two and a half hours. Apart from that, many trains are running from Tripura, airplanes are running, medical colleges have been established in the state, health services have been developed and very soon train and plain, both will run from Tripura to Bangladesh”, he said.
Further taking a dig at the opposition, Dr Saha said, “The previous government was a government of murder and terror and full of corruption from top to toe”.
“The current government is working with transparency. No scam anywhere. 30,000 more allowances will be given to the beneficiaries, 12% DA has been announced and contractual employees have been given increment, also, poor are given free rations”, he added.
Without calling out names, the chief minister also took a jibe over Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman adding that the later had lend support to opposition Trinamool Congress in winning local polls despite of being in ruling BJP.
Apart from the chief minister, minister Bhagaban Das, BJP Vice President Tapas Bhattacharya, Secretary Yadav Lal Nath along with district level leadership of the ruling party remained present at the program.
