Agartala, Sep 08: The opposition Left youth body – DYFI and TYF on Sunday accused the government of rising unemployment and alleged that the BJP-led coalition government has announced war against the unemployed youths of the state.
Referring to the statement of the minister Tinku Roy made in the monsoon assembly session on September 5 last, the DYFI state secretary Nabarun Deb on Sunday said, “The government has been putting incorrect information on different occasions regarding the providence of government jobs.”
“The Minister Tinku Roy on September 5 last informed the assembly that as of now during the last 6 years, 11, 532 government jobs were provided by the government, which does not match with the previous record as mentioned by the former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who claimed of over 1 lakh job and later the former education minister Ratan Lal Nath, who claimed of over 30000 jobs provided by the government,” Deb told reporters.
He slammed the government over putting different information on different occasions regarding providence of government jobs. He said, “In this way the government is trying to confuse the unemployed youths of the state. The ministers are intentionally putting such different information regarding recruitment and employment to highlight the figures in a giant manner.”
“The former Left front government in the year 2018 before the assembly election, created at least 16000 posts and accordingly the recruitment process was completed with interviews, while the distribution of offer letters was awaited, but the next BJP led coalition government, which assumed power in 2018 had completely failed to fill up those 16000 posts, rather the government managed to provide only 11,532 government jobs in the last 6 years,” he said.
He said, “At a time when the government announced war against unemployed youths, rising the rate of unemployment in Tripura, drug menace under the rule of this BJP government has engrossed the youths of this state.”
“During the last 6 years, over 30000 posts were left vacant due to retirement, but the government failed to fill up those vacant posts to abolish those posts and close the doors of employment from all ways to deprive the unemployed youths of the state,” he added.
On the other hand, the DYFI state secretary Nabarun Deb on Sunday alleged that amid such situations including crisis due to the flash flood, the ministers of this government engaged themselves in triggering communal tension. Referring to the recent incident of defacing of Kali idol in Ranirbazar area, Deb alleged, “The entire incident took place in presence of a minister and police officers, where at least 17 houses were torched. And thereafter another minister fell into a controversy for his social media statement, which was enough to hurt the communal sentiment.”
“Most shockingly, when the leader of opposition was condemning such incidents, the BJP goons had demonstrated infront of his residence,” he added.
Deb however urged the unemployed youths of the state to unite and intensify movement against the government over the rising unemployment rate in Tripura.
