Agartala Aug 27: Lions Club of Agartala ANISH is reaching out to the flood affected communities across Tripura. Vehicles laden of comprehensive flood relief kits, essential material like ration, toiletries, sanitary napkins etc. are dispatched to the people in need.
Lions Club of Agartala ANISH, supported by the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), organized a large-scale disaster relief program on Tuesday in Kakraban, Kishoreganj Shilkati Gram Panchayat under Gomati District.
The initiative aimed to alleviate the suffering of affected families by providing essential supplies to approximately 350 families.
The relief efforts were guided by local authorities, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Udaipur and the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Kakraban RD block. Besides, Village Panchayat representatives also played a crucial role in coordinating the distribution.
Despite challenging conditions, members of the Lions Club of Agartala ANISH went above and beyond to reach inaccessible areas.
Balraj Singh, a dedicated club member, risked his safety by using a wooden canoe (boat) to deliver relief materials to 40 families in Jamjali village.
“We are committed to continuing relief activities until Tripura fully recovers from the flood crisis”, said Secretary Biswajit Banik.
