Mahanam Ashram celebrates 43rd Foundation Day with Blood Donation Camp; Hands over Rs 50K to CM Relief Fund

Agartala Sept 14: Mahanam Angan Ashram, founded in 1982 by Mahanam Vrat Brahmachari, marked its 43rd foundation day on Saturday with a series of events including the 14th voluntary blood donation camp held in the Ashram premises.
The event was inaugurated by chief minister Dr Manik Saha in presence of Minister for Transport and Tourism Sushanta Chowdhury, secretary of the organization Sudip Kumar Roy among others.
In a gesture of solidarity and support, the temple authorities handed over a cheque of Rs 50,000 to the chief minister’s relief fund to aid flood victims.
Besides, the blood donation camp saw enthusiastic participation from the community, reflecting the ashram’s ongoing commitment to social welfare and humanitarian efforts.
Addressing the program, the chief minister highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s statement; ‘Serve man Serve God’.
“Selfless service is the manifestation of the feeling of oneness. And we, the elected representatives in the state government are also working in that direction. We have been chosen by people and therefore our duty is to work for their welfare”, said Dr Manik Saha.
He added that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a wave of religious sentiments is seen across the entire country.
Praising the role of Ashram authorities in serving the community, the chief minister said, “Blood donation has turned into a festival in Tripura. 14 thousand units of blood in state blood banks compared to 40 lakh population in the state is essential. And the target has being achieved with the help of such voluntary donation camps”.
Dr Saha also noted the role of netizens who came forward with possible support in relief work as the state saw an unprecedented destruction due to the recent flood.
“I’ am thankful and amazed to see how people of Tripura from all sections of the society came forward in helping the flood- victims. We are also not sitting back relaxed but all the line departments are working to disburse adequate compensation to the flood victims at the earliest”.
