Maharaja Bir Bikram remembered in TTAADC on his birth anniversary

Agartala, Aug 19: Along with other parts of Tripura, Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, the architect of modern Tripura, was remembered at Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council on Friday.
The central programme of ADC was held at MBB Mukum Lampra in Khumulwng where TTAADC chairman Jagadish Debbarma was present as the inaugurator.
Addressing the programme, the TTAADC chairman highlighted the contributions of Tripura Maharajas including Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya.
Koloi said, Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya had contributions in every field including education and agriculture but there was an attempt to erase the actual history of Tripura by installing statues of those, who had no connections with the history of the state, in front of Rajbari.
Executive Member (Health) Kamal Koloi, Executive Member (Youth Afairs and Sports) Suhel Debbarma, MDC Ganesh Debbarma, MDC Umashankar Debbarma, chairman of West Tripura Zonal Ranjit Debbarma and others were present. The welcome address was delivered by Chief Executive Officer C.K. Jamatia.
Meanwhile Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma paid tribute to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya at a programme in Killa in Gomati district. Earlier in a social media post, the Tipra Motha chief requested the Tripura Government to ask Agartala Municipal Corporation to clean up the royal cremation ground.
