Agartala, Sep 02: The former leader of opposition Manik Sarkar on Saturday blamed the BJP led coalition government in Tripura of being ‘averse’ to development in the state and alleged that the government had failed to meet the expectation of the people.
Addressing a low-key gathering of the CPI-M party supporters in Dhanpur ahead of the bye-election, Sarkar alleged, “The BJP government had curtailed budgetary allocation under the MGNREGA scheme like that of the other sectors.”
“The khet mazdoors, farmers, Rega workers and the unemployed youths of the state are being deprived largely under the rule of this government,” Sarkar said, adding that people of all walks of life are slogging across the country to dethrone the BJP from the Centre.
He however urged the voters of both the assembly constituencies of Dhanpur and Boxanagar to come out in large numbers to vote for the CPI-M and intensify movement against the BJP government.
