Agartala, June 28: The state Cabinet meeting on Tuesday decided, the married women to be eligible for government jobs under the die-in-harness scheme.
Briefing the details on the day’s cabinet decisions to reporters at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday evening, Information & Cultural Affairs minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, the council of ministers have decided that the married women who were earlier not eligible for getting any benefits under Die-in-Harness scheme will now be eligible for the same on the basis of their spouse’s income. The decision approved by the state cabinet on Tuesday mentioned, “The married woman will get government jobs under this scheme if her father or mother passes away during service tenure.”
“However, the married woman needs to get permission as no objection certificate (NOC) from her in-laws house to get the government job. Moreover, for consideration of married daughter, the income of her husband will be taken into consideration to determine her eligibility. If the husband or son of the married daughter of deceased government employee is employed in service, such married daughter shall not come under the purview of this scheme,” he added.
Chowdhury confirmed that the government has no right to obstruct the married woman in enjoying this benefit under the die-in-harness scheme if the parameters required for qualifying the eligibility are addressed.
Apart from this, the Cabinet Spokesperson, Minister Sushanta Choudhury further announced a list of new jobs and posts created for recruitment in future. He added, a total of 1000 Constables will be recruited in the Home department, 100 Physical Instructors will be recruited in the sports department, 60 Agricultural Officers are to be recruited through TPSC, 25 Supervisors are going to be recruited under the ICDS department, etc.
The Minister stressed that the recruitment process will be completed within August next. He also added, within 50 km of the Agartala City, the maintenance and building up of new roads will be done through plastic wastes.
