Agartala, Oct 28: A mega debate is going to be held in the state at the capital's 'Muktadhara Auditorium' from 5 pm on November 30 ( Sunday). This mega debate is being held under the initiative of 'Advocate Dilip Sarkar Memorial Foundation' formed in memory of late Advocate Dilip Sarkar.
The organizers in a press release said that all the famous speakers and renowned debators of the state will participate in it.
Senior Advocate Subrata Sarkar, Secretary of 'Advocate Dilip Sarkar Memorial Foundation' told media that the topic of debate this year has been fixed as- 'Not Everyone is equal in the eyes of the law'. Chandril Bhattacharya, the country's renowned TV debator, writer as well as cinematographer, is coming from Kolkata.
He will be the moderator of the debate. He will also give his valuable speech and opinion on the motion mentioned in the event. State Advocate General Siddhartha Shankar Dey, eminent journalist Sekhar Dutta, eminent lawyer Sandeep Dutta Chowdhury and asssociate professor Sutapa Das will speak in favour of the motion.
Prominent doctor of the state Dr. Kanak Chowdhury, prominent lawyer and human rights activist Anthony Debbarma, efficient police officer Jayanta Malakar and prominent educationist Dr. Mostafa Kamal will speak against the motion. The entire program will be anchored by the state's budding event anchor Urvashi Kalai, who already handled the event of Her Excellency the President of India recently and the Prime Minister's events in Tripura multiple times.
The organizers in their press release said that Justice Arindam Lodh, the progeny of the state and Justice of Tripura High Court, has agreed to attend the debate as the chief guest.
Besides, eminent lawyers who worked with him like retired justice U.B. Saha, retired justice S.C. Das, senior advocate Pijush Kanti Biswas, Tripura High Court Bar Council Chairman Advocate Pradyot Dhar and Advocate Ananta Banerjee will also deliver short speeches in the memory of late Advocate Dilip Sarkar.
Senior Advocate Subrata Sarkar, Secretary of 'Advocate Dilip Sarkar Memorial Foundation' said, 'Advocate Dilip Sarkar Memorial Foundation' has been created primarily with the objective of promoting free expression of opinion, public speaking, rational thinking among the public. This is the organization's first debate event.
Expressing the desire to hold similar events in the coming years, he has requested the participation of all debate lovers on behalf of the organizers to make the organization's first debate event a grand success.
