Boxanagar, Jul 26: Local people of Sonamura police station area blocked Sonamura road on Tuesday demanding the arrest of the kidnappers who abducted a minor girl 72-hour ago. 

Locals alleged that even after 72 hours of the incident, the police failed to find any track of the kidnapped girl as well as the kidnappers.

The girl was reportedly kidnapped from Balerdepa Chowmuhani area on her way to tuition with her friends on Sunday morning.

The agitating locals alleged that the girl was kidnapped by influential people in the area.

Irked at the present situation, the agitating locals on Tuesday first staged a dharna at Sonamura police station premises and then blocked Sonamura road at Sonamura Bridge Chowmuhani area.

Later, when Sub-Divisional Police Officer Banuj Biplab Das assured that the girl would be rescued by Wednesday noon, the agitators lifted the road blockade.
