Miscreants vandalize BJP, Cong party offices in Tripura's Bagma, one injured

Udaipur Oct 29: Attack and counter-attack by miscreants on BJP and Congress party offices at the Bagma Bazar area sparked political tension in Udaipur under Gomati District of Tripura on Friday late night.
A group of miscreants attacked the BJP office at Bagma Bazar and vandalized the party office as well as destroyed the party flags and festoons on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
Soon after the incident, another group of miscreants launched an attack on the Congress party office and ransacked it in the early hours of Saturday.
Meantime, supporters of both the BJP and Congress rushed to Bagma Bazar area and the situation became tense. While tension was building up, one of the Congress supporters was physically attacked. He sustained head injuries. A goods-laden vehicle was also attacked. Tension and panic gripped the Bagma bazaar area.
Fire service personnel took the injured Congress support to Tepania District Hospital. Police from Bagma Outpost and RK Pur Police station rushed to the spot and toiled hard to bring the situation under control. However, as simmering tension is palpable, security in the area was beefed up.
Supporters of the BJP and Congress blamed each other for the party office attacks. Later, Tribal Welfare Minister and a local MLA Rampada Jamatia went to the spot and interacted with party workers to access the situation.
Tension was also noticed at the Jamjuri area on Saturday over a Jana Sampark Abhiyan by Congress – however, the situation remained under control.
