Mobile snatching gang busted, 2 held

Agartala, Nov 10: The West Agartala Police has arrested two mobile snatchers in the capital on Sunday, following a complaint from Krishna Majumder. Majumder reported that while returning home from Maharajganj Bazar, two bikers approached him and snatched his mobile phone at night.
West Agartala Police Station's Officer-in-Charge, Rana Bhattacharjee, confirmed the arrests of the two suspects, identified as Sudip Das and Subrata Das. "Based on the victim's complaint and our swift investigation, we were able to track down the accused and arrest them," Bhattacharjee said. "These two individuals belong to a gang that has been involved in mobile snatching in the area for some time."
The police have recovered 10 stolen mobile phones, estimated to be worth around 3 lakh rupees, from the arrested men. "We are pleased to report that all the recovered mobiles will be returned to their rightful owners," Bhattacharjee added.
In a concerning trend, mobile snatching incidents have been reported across various police stations in Agartala, with many similar cases emerging in the past few months. "This gang has been targeting citizens across the city, and we have received multiple reports from other police stations about similar incidents," Bhattacharjee explained. "Our teams are working together to connect the dots and ensure this gang is fully dismantled."
