Agartala, Aug 20: Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik on Saturday stressed on developing infrastructures in every district by using the master plan PM-Gati Shakti.
 
She was addressing the general meeting of Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad in Agartala.
 
Bhowmik said, special initiatives need to be taken for communication, drinking water and electricity supply in the West Tripura district.
 
The Union Minister also said, there is a need to provide more Agri assistance to the rural people for making them Atmanirbhar. 
 
She also advised the Zilla Parishad to work with proper planning to make West Tripura a model district by availing the benefits of various central schemes.
 
According to Bhowmik, the central government has been working with multi-faceted plans for development of the Agriculture sector and welfare of the farmers. The government also arranged a training programme for the farmers. She said, 50 farmers of Tripura would be sent to Gujarat for training.
 
Addressing the programme, the Union Minister also laid importance on expanding organic farming in the West Tripura district.
 
Paschim Tripura Zilla Sabhadhipati Antara Sarkar Deb, MLA Krishnadhan Das, chairmen of various Panchayat Samities, District Magistrate, West Tripura- Debapriya Bardhan, Block Development Officers (BDOs) from different blocks and others were present in the meeting.
