Agartala/ Dharmanagar, Dec 03: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday concluded his two-day tour to North Tripura district followed by inauguration of various projects.
He also joined ‘Ghar Ghar BJP’ campaign at booth no- 19 under Bagbasa mandal and received good response from the people.
During his visit on Saturday, Dr. Saha inspected Tilthai Primary Health Centre and enquired about various services. He also had interactions with the medical staff and patients.
He also took part in an interactive session with students and faculties of Dharmanagar Government Degree College and encouraged the students to join NSS and NCC for rendering service to the society.
Addressing the students, the Chief Minister stressed on building a drug-free society. He said, a tendency of taking drugs is being seen among a section of youths. The state government took multiple steps to keep the youth away from drugs. He advised the students to keep themselves involved in extracurricular activities including sports.
In another programme, the Chief Minister inaugurated Jubarajnagar Sub-Divisional Office of Rural Development department and market stalls under BADP at Huplong where he addressed a public gathering.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said, the present state government is working in a transparent manner under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for overall development of the state. He said, the people are now receiving the benefits of various state and central schemes irrespective of any political affiliations.
He said, the state government introduced 33 percent reservation for women in government jobs and hiked remuneration of Anganwadi/ ASHA workers by 15 percent. Besides, the number of Self Help Groups (SHGs) through which the women are achieving the goal of self-reliance has increased over the past few years.
The Chief Minister also spoke on other major initiatives of the present state government. He said, the social allowance has been increased from Rs. 700 in Left regime to Rs. 2000 now. Besides, ‘Mukhyamantri Samajik Sahayata Prakalpa’ has been introduced for providing social allowance to more 30,000 beneficiaries.
MLA Malina Debnath, TIDC chairman Tinku Roy, Sabhadhipati of North Tripura Zilla Parishad Bhavatosh Das and chairperson of Jubarajnagar Panchayat Samiti Sripada Das were present in the programme.
Apart from his official programme, the Chief Minister also joined "Ghar Ghar BJP" campaign. According to Dr. Saha, there was huge response among the people during the campaign.
“Today received huge response from the people during "Ghar Ghar BJP" Abhiyan under booth no- 19 of Bagbasa Mandal. After seeing such spontaneous response, I am sure that BJP will form the government again with majority,” he tweeted.
