Agartala Jan 23: The 127th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was observed across Tripura with gaiety and sincerity along with the entire country on Thursday.
Various events and ceremonies organized by several organizations including schools, reflected deep respect and admiration for Netaji’s contributions to India’s independence on this ‘Parakram Diwas’.
The much loved tableau of Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan rolled over the city roads, captivating everyone with its dazzling display of culture and heritage.
Chief minister Dr Manik Saha inaugurated the program organized at Netaji School in presence of Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, Corporator Ratna Dutta, teachers and other officials.
In his address the chief minister lauded Netaji's patriotism and his indelible contributions to India's freedom struggle as a source of enduring inspiration. “Netaji's unmatched bravery and courage resonate within all of us,” he said.
Dr. Saha urged the students and youth to delve deep into the life of Netaji, understanding his struggles and undying love for Mother India, drawing inspiration from his remarkable journey.
“The dreams envisioned by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi for India's development will be realized through the growth of our young generation,” he emphasized.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the significant announcement made by Prime Minister Modi in 2021, designating Netaji Jayanti as ‘Parakram Diwas’ to honour Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Dr. Saha affirmed that the contributions of our freedom fighters have been given due respect since Narendra Modi took office as the Prime Minister.
In the procession, the participating students beautifully highlighted several important topics such as “End to Sexual Violence”, “Universal Peace and Brotherhood”, “Proud Tripura where Culture and Nature thrive together”, “Celebrating Humanity: No walls between Us”, among others.
On this day, Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu paid floral tributes to Netaji Subhas Chadra Bose’s statue at Maharajganj Market.
In his address, the Governor paid tribute to the unparalleled legacy of Netaji. He emphasized Netaji's unwavering patriotism and his pivotal role in India's freedom struggle, acknowledging his enduring influence on the nation's spirit.
The Governor urged citizens, especially the youth, to draw inspiration from Netaji's life and strive to embody his values of courage, resilience, and selfless service.
He also expressed deep gratitude for Netaji's sacrifices and contributions, encouraging everyone to work towards realizing the vision of a prosperous and united India, as envisioned by Netaji.
