Kanchanpur, Dec 23: Birendra Kar has been appointed as the new Mandal President of the 60th Kanchanpur Assembly Constituency. On Monday afternoon, Kar met with journalists at his residence in Rabindra Nagar, Kanchanpur, to share his vision and goals. Expressing his gratitude, Kar stated that he is determined to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to him by the party.
Kar emphasized his commitment to working for the welfare of the underprivileged in the region, regardless of political affiliation. “My sole objective is to ensure the ruling party secures another landslide victory in the upcoming 2028 elections,” he affirmed.
The new Mandal President also outlined key developmental priorities for Kanchanpur. He plans to propose the establishment of a separate block in the remote Anandabazar area and a fire station in Dasda to Minister Tinku Roy. These initiatives, he said, are essential for improving infrastructure and public services in the constituency’s challenging terrains.
However, Kar did not shy away from voicing his concerns about local law enforcement. He accused Kanchanpur police station’s Officer-in-Charge, Uttam Debbarma, of negligence, alleging his involvement in allowing unchecked activities such as cattle smuggling and the drug trade. “This issue cannot be ignored, and I will bring it to the Chief Minister’s attention,” Kar stated firmly.
