Agartala, Mar 20: National Institute of Technology Agartala (NITA) and Composite Research Group, Durban University of Technology, South Africa (CRG) agreed to build cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote academic, research and educational exchange between these institutions.
The MoU was signed by the Director of NITA Dr. H.K. Sharma and Dy. Vice Chancellor (Acting) of CRG Prof. Sibusiso Moyo.
The MoU is a form of mutual commitment in complimenting each other’s duties and function in the perspective of cooperation in educational and scientific research, and the development of exchange of students, graduates, and teaching professors.
The research students and faculty members felt that this type of MOU would not only cater for the internationalisation of the brand, NIT Agartala but also would create the scope for the budding researchers from this institute to compete and collaborate with the outer world.
The significant aspect of the MoU is that both sides have agreed to exchange their faculty members for the purpose of study or lecturing in other institutions on a reciprocal basis, to invite faculty members for the purpose of lecturing, research or consultation for a specified period of time, to send faculty members/research scholars for the purpose of advanced study of research, to assist the development of mutual educational programs for bachelor and master degrees and to assist the scientific co-operation, expansion and mutual scientific projects in the areas of mutual interest.
