Nursing officer’s kind act saves patient’s life in critical condition

Agartala, Nov 21: Gomati District Hospital witnessed a heartfelt act of compassion when Prajita Chakma, a 32-year-old nursing officer, stepped forward to save the life of Anjali Chowdhury, a patient in critical condition, on Wednesday.
The patient, referred urgently from Baikhora Primary Hospital, arrived in a dire state with severe bleeding and an alarmingly low haemoglobin level of 2.
Moved by Anjali’s critical condition, Prajita made the life-saving decision to donate blood for the first time.
The Nursing Officer’s blood group is 'O positive', and the patient needed the same blood group. Seeing the patient’s condition, the Nursing Officer came forward to donate blood.
Her selfless act was widely appreciated. The hospital authorities confirmed that the patient is now stable and under observation in the maternity ward.
