Agartala Feb 12: Arrival of BJPs suited booted leaders at regular intervals with the assembly elections in merely few days clearly depicts Bharatiya Janata Party (BJPs) fear of being uprooted from the soil of Tripura, said All India Trinamool Congress Spokesperson Kunal Ghosh here on Sunday.
Addressing the press at TMC State party office Kunal Ghosh said, “BJP is spending days in extreme fear and that is why they feel the urgency of bringing Modi, Amit Shah and others to Tripura at regular intervals”.
Lashing out Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ghosh said, “In the year 2018, Modi for the first time lured the people of Tripura with his bag full of promises but now as he is yet again addressing the people of Tripura targeting 2023 assembly elections, he has not uttered a single word related to unfulfilled promises enlisted in the Vision Document of the party”.
‘Daily passengering’ of Modi and others to Tripura reminds of West Bengal elections in the year 2021 when they similarly travelled to lure the people of West Bengal but terribly lost to Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress, he said.
Talking about the role of Election Commission, Kunal Ghosh said, “ECIs role in non-BJP ruling states compared to BJP ruling states is clear in front of the people. Strict actions by ECI in non-BJP states whereas ECI in BJP ruling states are in slumber, in a way favouring the Bharatiya Janata Party”.
The AITC Spokesperson further urged the people of Tripura to vote for the TMC candidates to bring a drastic change in the state for ‘real welfare’.
Banking on the West Bengal model of governance under Mamata Banerjee, Ghosh said, “West Bengal schemes have achieved highest appreciation in entire India and on being established to power, similar schemes will be implemented in Tripura”.
“Laxmi Bhandar, Kanyashree, Rupashree, Duare Sarkar and several other successful schemes will be implemented in Tripura under Mamata Banerjee’s leadership”, he added.
Castigating the CPIM-Congress alliance in Tripura, Ghosh said, “The alliance in Tripura is just to achieve goals of personal interests”.
“In West Bengal CPIM and BJP are friends to fight against Trinamool Congress but in Tripura they are plotting with Congress to fight BJP. This is a matter of laughing stock of people”, he said.
Answering the question of reporters of poor performance in by-elections in Tripura, Kunal Ghosh said, “In only three months, TMC did record results in AMC elections but because of episodic attacks and use of police machinery against TMC leaders, activists in several places is responsible for the effect on vote bank in by-polls”.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Susmita Dev while talking to the reporters slammed the role of Election Commission in Tripura.
She said, “With barely two days left for campaigning, it is extremely disheartening that TMC is not allowed to campaign properly. At several places including Sonamura, Banamalipur, Chandipur and others TMC party offices have been attacked, campaign materials are destroyed and campaign permissions are also restricted”.
The Trinamool Congress leadership urged the voters to come out of their homes ignoring fear and cast their votes to uphold democracy.
