Odisha Foundation Day: Tripura Guv praises rich heritage and cultural identity

Agartala April 01: With an aim to celebrate the rich heritage and cultural identity of the state of Odisha, Utkal Diwas which commemorates the formation of the state in 1936 was celebrated with due dignity in Tripura on Monday.
Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu who inaugurated the program held at Muktodhara Auditorium unveiled a commemorative plaque named ‘Chakadola’.
Addressing the program the Governor said, “The state of Odisha has a rich history, followed by being a land of innovation as it is making progress in all spheres including industrial, agricultural and technological sectors”.
He also highlighted Odisha's educational infrastructure, Odissi dance arts, Jagannath Temple in Puri, Surya Temple in Konark, Chilka Lake, Shimli Pal National Park among others.
Dr. Odisha Samaj Tripura Chief Patron Dr SK Pratihari also spoke on the occasion. He also donated Rs 20,000 to buy books for the organization's library.
Prof. RK Mohapatra, secretary of Oriya Samaj Tripura, the organizer of the event, presented the report of the organization.
Apart from that president of the organization Bishnucharan Pati delivered the welcome address.
On the occasion of celebration of Utkal Diwas, interesting cultural programs were also held at the auditorium.
