More than 1000 solar pumps have so far been installed in Tripura under PM-KUSUM scheme, according to Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma.

Solar pumps are being provided to small and marginal farmers especially in the remote areas/ aspirational blocks for irrigation and the Energy Development Authority (TREDA) under the Department of Power is implementing the scheme- PM KUSUM.

The Deputy Chief Minister in a Facebook post mentioned on Wednesday, the Tripura Government subsidized further through RIDF (NABARD) so that poor marginal farmers pay only Rs. 2500 for pump and for boring upto Rs 1 lakh to be borne by state government. 

“Over 1000 pumps already installed and process is going on,” the Deputy Chief Minister wrote.
