Kailasahar, July 18: The group of congress-backed panchayat members of Khaorabil gram panchayat of Kailasahar sub-division, who filed no-trust against their Pradhan Abdul Chamad accusing him of indulged in corrupt practices on July 16 last returned back to the Congress party to rule the panchayat.
The Kailasahar District Congress President Md. Badurajjaman, jointly with the panchayat pradhan Abdul Chamad, panchayat members Ramiza Begum and Anita Namah held a press conference on Monday evening and ruled out the panchayat members joining the ruling BJP party.
He alleged that the BJP leaders tempted the congress-backed panchayat members of the Khaorabil gram panchayat while they moved to the vice-chairperson of the Kailasahar municipal council, Nitish Dey to file no-trust against the panchayat Pradhan.
He further alleged that worried of the growing development under the Khaorabil gram panchayat of Kailasahar sub-division, the concerned BJP leaders and workers are attempting to tempt the congress workers in the panchayat.
The nine-member seat of Khaorabil village panchayat under Gaurnagar block in Kailashahar comprises six panchayat members from the Congress party and three panchayat members from the BJP party.
The congress leader Md. Badurajjaman clarified that the two panchayat members – Anita Namah and Ramiza Begum shall not join the BJP and they shall continue their service in the panchayat being in the congress party.
