Panchayat members file no-confidence motion against Pradhan

Kailasahar, July 16: The congress-backed members including others of the Khaorabil village panchayat of Kailasahar on Saturday evening filed a no-confidence motion against the panchayat Pradhan Abdul Chamad and accused him of being indulged in corrupt practices.
The nine-member seat of Khaorabil village panchayat under Gaurnagar block in Kailashahar comprises six panchayat members from the Congress party and three panchayat members from the BJP party.
After submitting the no-confidence motion, along with five panchayat members, one of the active members of the BJP Tripura State Committee and the vice-chairperson of the Kailasahar municipal council, Nitish Dey told reporters that at a time when the common people are frustrated with the activities of the Congress party, the panchayat members belonging to this party are raising their voice against their Pradhan Abdul Chamad who is deep necked in nepotism and financial scams.
He alleged that the Panchayat Pradhan is also indulged in corrupt practices of allotting houses under the PMAY in exchange of money.
On the other hand, the panchayat members of the Congress party Mithali Namah and Ramiza Begum expressed their anger against the panchayat Pradhan Abdul Chamad and decided to leave the congress party. They met the vice-chairperson of the Kailasahar municipal council, Nitish Dey and intended to join the BJP.
Accordingly, on Saturday noon the BJP leader Nitish Dey along with the two panchayat members of the Congress party and three other panchayat members of the BJP party Abdul Goppar, Dhirendra Kumar Namah and Indrajit Namah moved to the office of the District Panchayat Officer Rajesh Debbarma of Unakoti Zilla Parishad and filed no-confidence motion against the Panchayat Pradhan.
