Kalyanpur Oct 21: Miscreants owing allegiance to the ruling BJP allegedly attacked the Congress party office in the dark of night.

Demanding immediate arrest of the culprits, Pradesh Congress leaders and activists laid seize at the  Kalyanpur police station on Friday.

According to the details, the Kalyanpur Block Congress Committee held a two-hour rally in front of the Kalyanpur Congress Bhavan on Thursday afternoon on 9-point demands in public interest. Later, miscreants broke the door and attacked the Kalyanpur Congress Bhavan at mid-night.

According to party leaders, miscreants took away 48 plastic chairs, Rs 6,000 in cash, a mic set and broke some furniture.

Protesting against this incident, the Congress party staged protest demonstration in front of the Kalyanpur Police Station on Friday afternoon and placed a deputation to the Kalyanpur Police Station OC Udbhav Debbarma.

The program was led by Khwoai district Congress president Bikram Kishore Sinha, PCC members Ashok Deb, Kartik Debnath and other leaders.

Congress leaders warned that if the police fail to arrest the miscreants within three days, the party will go on a larger agitation.
