Patanjali to set up palm processing unit in Tripura: CM

Agartala, Oct 15: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday announced that the Patanjali Foods Ltd would set up a palm processing unit in the state.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister noted, the Horticulture department's recent MoU with Patanjali foods Ltd marked a significant milestone in boosting Tripura's palm oil production.
“Under the National Mission on Edible Oils and Oil Palm, they're targeting 1,124 hectares for palm plantation, with an impressive 760 hectares already covered. This initiative is a part of the government's larger goal to increase oil palm production in the State,” the Chief Minister mentioned.
He also added that the Patanjali Foods Ltd would also set up a palm processing unit in Tripura.
On Tuesday, North East head of Patanjali Foods Ltd Ashok Kumar Singh made a courtesy visit to the Chief Minister’s official residence and discussed about future prospects and opportunities of Oil Palm Plantation and commercialisation which would go in uplifting the socio-economic condition of the farmers of Tripura.
