Agartala Nov 15: “Work of Agartala Smart City is running at a fast pace, it’s time to give finishing to the work done”, said MoS Pratima Bhowmik.
Agartala Smart City Ltd. held a meeting of the City Level Advisory Forum (CLAF) under the chairmanship of MoS Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik at the Conference Hall of AMC on Tuesday.
The meeting reviewed the work done under Agartala Smart City Project till date along with tallying the amount spent and time taken for completion of the project.
Discussion was held on incomplete projects and advice was taken from the Advisory Forum members.
Addressing the reporters after the meeting, MoS Pratima Bhowmik said, “Agartala City has beautifully changed in every aspect because of the projects taken up under Smart City Project”.
“All major projects have been completed except few which will also be completed within January 2023 next”, she added.
Mentioning the incomplete works that are under process Bhowmik said, “Major Roadway from Airport-Agartala and Golchakkar-Akhaura will be completed within next two months and this will make the communication further easier”.
Talking about Light House Project Pratima Bhowmik said rumours like “People are willing to get refund of their money invested for a flat in Light House” and “Not even 1000 flats are booked yet” are completely false.
“After booking the majority of the flats, at least 300 people are in queue. They are just waiting for a chance to book a flat”, said Pratima Bhowmik.
Praising the work done under Agartala Smart City Project, Pratima said, “In 5 years of BJP governance, 2 years got wasted due to Covid. But even after that, the work done is commendable”.
People will see complete“Kayapalat” in the next five years, added Pratima Bhowmik.
Talking about the day’s meeting, AMC Commissioner Sailesh Kumar Yadav said, “A total of 49 projects have been completed so far and 17 are running. There is no project that has not been started yet”.
“The 4-lane Airport Road and work of Asia’s longest musical fountain (120 m) long in the heart of the capital city will be completed within January next”, he added.
Stressing on the praiseworthy work done in regard to the water logging crisis in the city, Yadav said, “Agartala is one of the two states in India that has been appreciated at National Level for solving the water logging crisis with advanced technology”.
He also added that the big budget Howrah River Project work has also been started under the Smart City Project.
