Agartala Feb 05: Gearing up the election campaign, a grand rally was organized in support of Congress candidate from 6-Agartala assembly constituency, Sudip Roy Barman here on Sunday.
Complying with the decision of joint campaign in favour of the Left-Congress alliance, Sudip Roy Barman’s rally was backed by supporters and activists from both the parties who rallied across Bitarban, Das Para, Mulla Para areas under 6-Agartala assembly constituency.
Talking to the reporters, Sudip Roy Barman said, “Faces of common people clearly depicts the angst, brewing disappointment and frustration against the BJP government that did nothing but ‘Jumla’ with the people”.
“Democracy, rule of law and freedom of common people entitled by the Constitution must be restored in Tripura and that will be possible only by ousting the BJP and people are ready for that”, he said.
Answering to the reporters question of sporadic incidents of violence in different parts of poll-bound state, Roy Barman said, “BJP won’t be able to open a single account in the ensuing polls. People will ensure that. And the reports of violence, we are ready for any situation”.
“The election Commission of India, Police administration have to comply with their statements and be vigil at duties to ensure that democracy wins”, he added.
CPIM leader Shankar Prasad Dutta and others also accompanied Sudip Roy Barman in his ‘Padyatra’.
A great deal of enthusiasm was witnessed among the activists of both parties dancing together on the drum beats.
