Pineapple consignment flagged-off from Tripura for Delhi

Agartala, June 24: Tripura Agriculture minister Pranajit Singha Roy flagged-off a consignment of 6MT pineapple for Delhi on Saturday. The flagging-off ceremony was held at Horticulture Research Complex, Nagicherra in West Tripura district in the presence of other dignitaries.
The Agriculture minister said, demand for the state fruit- Queen Pineapple is increasing across the country as well as in abroad.
Taking to social media, the Agriculture Minister commented, “Before 2018 our farmers were not getting the fair prices for queen pineapple. Now the scenario has changed, our farmers are getting fair prices for queen pineapple. Farmers are also showing interest in queen pineapple cultivation.”
In a separate social media post, the Agriculture minister said the state government is committed to double the farmers’ income.
“Flagged off Pineapple Consignment from Tripura to Delhi today at Agartala. Our Gov't is committed to fulfill PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji's vision of doubling Farmer's income and GoT is earnestly working in this direction. Appreciate the efforts of concerned departments and hardworking farmers of Tripura,” he wrote.
