Agartala Sept 07: Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) aims to enhance the socio-economic conditions of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG). This initiative aims to provide essential amenities such as secure housing, clean drinking water, sanitation, improved access to education, health, and nutrition, as well as enhanced road and telecom connectivity, and sustainable livelihood opportunities to PVTGs households and habitats, said Vishal Kumar DM West Tripura District.
Saturday, the West Tripura District Magistrate briefed the press regarding the work done under PM-JANMAN Scheme in the West District of the state.
He said, “Under the West Tripura district two blocks have been identified for development of the PVTG families especially, those belonging to the Reang communities. This includes, a total of 5 beneficiaries from three families in Old Agartala RD Block (Radhamohan Pur VC, Tulakona GP and Radhakishore Nagar GP) and 15 beneficiaries from 5 families under Balbari RD Block (Radhapur VC, Champak Nagar and Bikram Molsom)”.
Talking about the work done aimed at saturation of the PVGT families, Dr Vishal Kumar said, “6 new zero balance accounts have been opened for the beneficiaries at PNB Jirania under Jan Dhan Yojana Scheme, 14 PVGT Reang beneficiaries have been enrolled for PM-Ayushman Card, 2 Reang families have been provided with medicines and fodder from the ARDD among others”.
Apart from these, applications for ST certificate, Ration Card, Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card etc. have also been received from the beneficiaries.
The West DM further mentioned that a District Level Mega Event for West Tripura will be organized in the coming days at the premises of SDM Jirania where at least 22 PVTG beneficiaries will be taking part.
