Times News, Agartala Aug 4: Atul Kumar Goyal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Punjab National Bank and Chairman of Indian Bankers’ Association arrived in Agartala from New Delhi on Thursday and visited Tripura Gramin Bank, TGB.
He was accompanied by SLBC general manager Sakhshi Gopal Saha, Zonal hjead of PNB Bikramjit Som, DGM of PNB Anand Kumar and AGM Subrata Roy. Later, Atul Kumar Goyal took part in the SLBC meeting., Chairman of TGB Satyendra Singh, in presence of TGB officers and employees welcomed Goyal. A cordial discussion between the officers and staff of TGB and the MD and CEO of PNB ensued.,
In his welcome address, Singh highlighted the overall performance of the TGB. Speaking on the occasion, Goyal applauded TGB’s role in the socio-economic development of the State. He said a bank can stand on a strong structure when that bank prioritizes lending. He urged the TGB official to stress lending- “lending should be the primary function of TGB”, Goyal said.
Atul Kumar Goyal also made a slew of suggestions pertaining to customer services, and introduction of the digital facilities etc.,
He suggested that customer service should be given utmost importance in day-to-day work and everyone should work to make the customers happy. Happy customers will then take the bank to the top of success., He also suggested the authorities introduce new digital systems in the banks and ensure that the new systems work properly.
Goyal, however, expressed concern at global economic turmoil. This is the period when prompt and correct decisions will have to be taken and he also emphasized the importance of motivation to improve the performance of the bank., Shishir Kumar Rohatgi, general manager of the TGB delivered the vote of thanks. TGB officers and employees are elated at the visit of Atul Kumar Goyal and they termed the day 'historic'.
